So you are enjoying an amazing vacation in the mountains. What would be better than the warm gathering around a campfire? What could go wrong?
A lot if we are not careful. Even when we are fortunate enough to have those wonderful seasonal showers, Rocky Mountain National Park is always in stage one fire restrictions and often has a stricter rules in place, or even bans.
The same can be said for the Town of Estes Park, and other surrounding public lands.
Always check the rules, follow every detail, and err on the side of caution.
Build your fire in a properly constructed fire ring,
Never leave it unattended and put it out completely with water, it’s out when you can handle the embers.
We can never be too careful with fire!
